HRSA 340B Drug Pricing Program
Enacted in 1992, the 340B program is intended to provide safety net and at-risk hospitals with resources to stretch scarce federal funding. The goals of the program are to enable safety net providers to continue providing services to patients in rural, economically strained, or other at-risk settings and to reduce the cost of expensive, essential medications for patients.
Global Benchmarking Drug Prices
The Global Benchmark for Efficient Drug Pricing (GLOBE) Model is a mandatory model that will assess a rebate for certain drugs payable under Original Medicare Part B if the prices exceed those paid in economically comparable countries. The GLOBE schema will apply to single source drugs and sole source biologics, including certain Part B rebatable drugs.
